On June 16th, the MinuteKlan's "flag day" national mobilization finally came to a disgraceful end. Instead of the 10,000 people they told the Washington Post they were expecting, they had maybe 75, and had to scrub their march from the Capitol after being run of by the Capitol Police.
Instead, they went to the Washington Monument(close to a South Asian event), and that's where Resistance and Solidarity caught up with them.
Counterdemonstrators closed to point-blank range before deploying signs, banging drums, and yelling pro-immigrant slogans. Within seconds, a large number of the racists stormed up and started screaming, and minutes later the Park Police boiled up like hornets from a disturbed nest.
Trying to push back counterprotesters they grabbed some people, wrestled with others, and one cop attempted without success to tackle one activist. After several minutes of this(and no arrests), the cops finally agreed to let Resistance and Solidarity take a position in sight and sound but not directly on top of the MinuteKlan.
From that point on, there was some back and forth heckling and chants competing with their sound system until the MinuteKlannies started leaving, at which point R&S packed it in as well.
This was the third day in a row the MinuteKlan got a turnout of maybe 1% of what they predicted. The anti-immigrant racists have lost-FINISH THEM!
